Saturday, August 17th: Mutual Aid in the West End

Learn about Black-led grassroots approaches to remove access barriers and address root causes of Food Apartheid in the West End. Change Today, Change Tomorrow is devoted to eradicating the food justice and public health barriers that plague the Black community. 5th Element Farms / Apocalyptic Acres is at the intersection of Hip Hop Culture and Farming and transforms vacant lots into gardens in the Parkland neighborhood.

This day will consist of a tour, conversation, and optional work projects at both sites. Please come prepared to work in the garden. Wear clothing and shoes that can get dirty. A boxed lunch will be provided. Pack sunscreen and a refillable water bottle. If you need a chair, please pack one.
