Green Tea Talks
Introducing Green Tea Talks
Green Tea Talks (GTT) is a new program of the Louisville Sustainability Council for 2024.
GTT is something different. The main focus is on partnering with historically underserved populations. We will promote a series of community-led conversations with people of color, gay/queer groups, older people, younger people — well, you get the idea. It is proactive, impactful and fun.
Talks will be educational and make use of existing resources in our community (people and organizations) all designed to make a positive impact in the lives of all of our community members. Topics will be inclusive.
Some talks will lead to workshops and signups on the spot. Community-determined themes like housing, effciency, transportation, food insecurity and other challenges will be focused on to find real and tangible solutions that will lead to a better quality of life.
At the center of it all is... community! Tea and light refreshments will be provided free of charge. Some sessions will take place in churches or community centers. Some will happen at local tea shops and will actively support local black, women, queer owned tea shops.
The next Green Tea Talks will be an Energy Efficiency Fair in collaboration with Americana World Community Center
