Join us for The People's Summit on Food Systems and Urban Agriculture: Food Vision 2030, which is taking place in Louisville, Kentucky on August 16-17 and September 13, 2024, hosted by Food in Neighborhoods (FIN) with major financial contributions from Kentucky State University.
The People’s Summit culminates in a full day of participatory conference proceedings on Friday, September 13, which will entail general plenary sessions, a variety of thematic workshops, and informal spaces for art and dialogue with sponsors.
Louisville Central Community Center (LCCC) is the event venue for the full-day conference on Friday, September 13. The address of LCCC is 1300 W Muhammad Ali Blvd, Louisville 40203.
One of the keynote moments of the event will be the release of the Food Vision 2030, a multi-year strategic plan that evaluates the post-pandemic local food system landscape and identifies priorities for directing public and private investment to achieve greater equity, sustainability, and resilience at the local and regional levels. This strategic plan has been developed through multiple forms of community input (including monthly working group meetings, an online survey, focus groups, a youth participatory action research project, and the 2023 People’s Summit) primarily regarding food and land policy, education and training, food access, food supply, and infrastructure. The event will also feature the first public presentation by the newly established Greater Louisville Food Council, which is largely dedicated to guiding implementation of the Food Vision 2030.
