Squallis Puppeteers, Green Streets, Kentucky Waterways Alliance, Greater Louisville Sierra Club and a cadre of local artists, activists and performers invite you to join the first annual “Our Good River Climate Parade.”
The parade will take place on the Summer Solstice: Tuesday, June 21 at 5:30 pm, beginning at the Belvedere and marching to Breonna Square Park at 301 S. Sixth St.
The parade route will follow a path once flattened under the hooves of thousands of bison as they moved southbound, across the Falls of the Ohio. The name “Ohio'' means “Good River” in the language of the Seneca, but today the Ohio River is the most polluted river in the United States.
Our Good River is in need of restoration! Come, be part of the action as we march together and take our first concrete steps towards honoring, healing, and restoring Our Good River.
