Louisville Climate Action Network
Urban Energy Partnership (UEP)
Louisville Climate Action Network will provide in-depth energy audits to 6-8 local nonprofits serving primarily Louisville’s Black and Brown community, so they can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and “spend less on utilities, more on mission.”
In 2023, Louisville Climate Action Network will launch its Urban Energy Partnership (UEP) which will provide in-depth energy audits to 6-8 local nonprofits serving primarily Louisville’s Black and Brown community. The purpose of the UEP is to help nonprofits across our community dramatically reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and utility costs while also improving their buildings’ comfort. In late 2022, LCAN launched the UEP’s “soft start” which purchased new LEDs for seven local nonprofits and provided a full energy audit and smart thermostats for an eighth. The relamped facilities cut a total of $5,600+ annually from their utility bills and more than 44 U.S. tons from their collective carbon footprint. The eighth client’s bills are coming in 50% lower than they were for the same period last year.
