About Our Team

LSC is led by passionate individuals with diverse expertise united by a commitment to advancing sustainability initiatives within the Louisville community towards a greener future.

Staff

  • Stuart Ungar (he/him)

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Stuart will be working on building ties to the community to raise LSC’s profile.

Stuart comes to us with over 30 years of nonprofit experience. Most recently, he co-founded Evolve KY, Kentucky’s nonprofit electric vehicle group.

He will look for ways to make the organization better represent and serve our community — all the while strengthening existing programs and finding new ways to promote the exceptional work of our community’s many eco-minded people and organizations.

Stuart is excited to be able to work to “connect the dots” on all the different and important sustainable areas such as transportation, solar, building and remodeling, healthy eating, planting trees and, in general, working mindfully to better care for our one and only planet.

  • Nicholas Johnson (he/him)

    PROGRAM MANAGER

Nicholas manages all programs while representing LSC in the community.

Nicholas studied Political Science in college, and has spent the past decade involved in the environmental movement in Louisville. He cares about protecting the humans of Spaceship Earth from climate change, and strives to build authentic, sustainable, and resilient local communities. Nick enjoys DIY projects, cycling, cooking, and gardening (despite not having a particularly green thumb).

  • Erin Spencer (she/her)

    COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Erin works with all LSC social platforms, communications, and marketing.

Erin graduated from Centre College in May 2022 with an MA in Environmental Studies and International Studies and Spanish minors. Post-graduation, she moved to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany for 15 months to work and travel. Now, Erin is looking forward to pursuing a Masters of the Environment in Natural Resources and Environmental Policy at University of Colorado at Boulder in Fall 2024.

In her spare time, Erin enjoys climbing, yoga, walking her dog (probably her favorite), reading, and planning new trips!
