Katy Marshall

Katy Marshall is the founder of Studio Spore LLC, a collaborative art and educational urban mushroom farm located in Clarksville, IN. Katy's sincere interest in the kingdom of fungi began after her young son completed treatment for stage 3 Neuroblastoma. She would often take him for walks in the woods and she would research the plants and fungi they found together. It was then that she learned about the medicinal benefits of different kinds of fungi, including research showing positive effects for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Katy is also the project manager and heads the laser engraving division for her family business, Stoneworks Lettering LLC. Stoneworks specializes in monument engraving. Katy has also spearheaded several public art projects in collaboration with organizations around Louisville. She has worked closely with IdeasXlab and Hannah Drake for the UnKnown Footprints project on the expansion of the Louisville waterfront, Artist Ashley Cathey with The Healing Walls project and Lipstick Wars Poetry on the haiku engravings in front of the Kroger on W. Broadway in Louisville, The Norton Sports and Learning Center on an engraving of Hannah Drake's poem "While We Were Building" in the pathway to the entrance, and UofL for the Hannah Drake poem "Upon This Rock" engraved in front of the new Cultural Center.
