My fingers take me to the moment where the lines, color and body meet. Out of the many possible, one image makes its way through. What makes this magic? I only know that it has moved me since shaping a bobby pin as young child.

Seattle and Chicago early, and most of my life in Louisville have influenced me as much as design from all cultures, especially Japanese and many countries in Africa. I am grounded in the unending waves of nature’s dynamics.

Making sculptures as well as painting and drawing: There is nothing I would rather do. I live inside the "fire of rebellion and the caress of tenderness. Each edge carries inquiry and tradition." I carry with me a great respect for the forces that move us to create art in this life. Gwen K Burke
